I’m Brenda Ponnay, an author and illustrator who loves making things — sometimes neatly, sometimes in big, joyful messes. I’ve been creating stories and pictures since 2003, and whether I’m painting, drawing, baking, installing floral arrangements, or just doing the laundry, I’ve learned that creativity is what makes me happy. These days, my focus is on children’s books, illustration, and projects that blend humor and heart. I’m currently working on a new picture book, Tiny Bee (expected 2026). This site is a home for that work — and for the creative life surrounding it.

Long before I published children’s books, I wrote online as Secret Agent Josephine — a mommy blogger, crafter, and graphic designer who shared stories from the messy middle of everyday life. I still love long-form blogging and the more personal internet of those early days, before algorithms and clickbait took over.
